Full Old Countries in a New World Walkthrough

After exploring the port and city of New Sérène, De Sardet, alongside Kurt and Vasco, head towards the Governor's Palace. Here, a native warrior named Síora appears at the entrance of the palace and requests to see your cousin, the governor. Upon catching up with Constantin, he provides you with the task to set forth and meet the governors of the Bridge Alliance and Thélème in order to send his regards and to learn more about what they have discovered on the island.

Available Side Quests

Before meeting the Bridge or Thélème governors, speak to Vasco, you'll find him in the same room. You'll be able to unlock his first side quest: A Name for a Family, he will ask for your help to obtain some documents in order to learn more about his family and his past. It is recommended to accept the quest and to complete it as soon as possible in order to build a good relationship between your companions and their factions. If you choose to "take care of it now", Vasco will automatically be locked in the party until you complete the quest, if you decide to "put it off until later", you can speak to him later to take the quest -just don't ignore him for too long since it will cause him to leave your party.

Once that's done, head back down to the main hallway where you'll find Mr. de Courcillon and speak to him. You'll acquire two more side quests called Exploration and Cartography and In Professor Serafeddin's Footsteps. These side quests are easy and can be done easily since you just need to find and set up a campfire in various locations, and as you explore, you'll also need to find a number of documents left by Professor Serafeddin - you can check the objectives and other details of the quest by viewing your Journal in the character menu.

Travel to Glendgnàmvàr, The Shore of the Tall Bones

Make your way outside the palace and open your map, you'll have to travel first on foot towards the Bridge Alliance. You'll have to take the exit leading to the Eastern Gate in order to reach your destination.

At the Eastern Gate, you'll find a Merchant Caravan. Speak to the merchant in order to request for their service to bring you to a destination in exchange for a small amount of gold. In order to discover and unlock other fast travel points, you must find other Merchant Caravans situated in each location and speak to them.

Continue going east, cross the bridge, and you'll find a chest by the open shack to your right. You can find 4x Gold Coins, 2x Ammo, 1x Old Embroidered Doublet, and 1x Worn Tricorne.

After acquiring the items, continue going east where you'll first encounter creatures outside the walls of New Sérène. There will be 3x Brown Ulg along your path, and you'll need to kill them in order to push forward. Make sure to loot their bodies to acquire the following ingredients: Beast Essence, Leather, and Bile.

Once you've cleared the path, continue heading east and follow your compass to travel to Glendgnamvar, The Shore of the Tall Bones. Each time you travel to a new area, you will be given an indication of how long the travel time will take - the travel duration to Glendgnàmvàr will take approximately 13 hours.

On the other hand, each time you travel, you will be taken through a wandering merchants camp where you can rest by the campfire, manage your belongings by using your chest, upgrade your gear by using a Crafting Table, manage your team, and trade with the wandering merchant. And once you're done with your preparations, you can continue to the next area by proceeding forward to the next path.

If you've already completed Vasco's side quest, Kurt will have a bubble on his head which indicates his first side quest, Missing in Action, is available - speak to him to learn more and choose to either accept the quest now or later on. If you're still in the middle of completing another companion's quest, he will tell you to check back with him later on when you've got your hands free.

To the Bridge Alliance

Upon arriving at Glendgnàmvàr, you'll run into 3x Brown Ulg. It can easily be killed and is recommended that you do so in order to obtain XP. Don't forget to loot its bodies to acquire some Beast EssenceLeather, and Bile.

Now, move your compass and head North. you'll notice that there is a question mark marker on the compass. Follow it to find a campfire, choose the option to set up the camp which progresses the side quest Exploration and Cartography and opens up a fast travel port. By setting up a campsite, you can rest by the campfire, manage your belongings by using your chest, upgrade your gear by using a Crafting Table, and manage your team.

Once you're done with your preparations, look over to your right where you'll find structures that look like huts. Walk up to the ones that have three huts next to each other where you'll find a stone chest containing 3x Gold Coins, 1x Health Potion, 1x Crude Iron Ore, 1x Tracker's Tunic, and 1x Great Obsidian Hammer.

After acquiring the items, turn around and you'll find a Skill Altar, activate it to acquire 1x Skill Point. Discovering and activating a skill altar will grant the character with a skill point. Now continue heading east until you reach the "travel" point.

Along the way you'll encounter more Brown Ulg, kill it and loot its bodies to acquire more Beast EssenceLeather, and Bile. Where the creatures were, you'll find a corpse of a congregation citizen, loot its body to obtain 5x Gold Coins, 1x Health Potion, 1x Ammo, 1x Old Reinforced Gloves, and 1x Soft Old Boots. Continue heading east until you reach the next travel point and a merchant caravan, before heading to the next travel point, be sure to speak to the merchant to unlock its fast travel point - as you travel to the Region of Hikmet, you'll stop over the wandering merchants camp, make further preparations before heading out.

The Region of Hikmet

You've now discovered the Region of Hikmet. Simply follow the quest marker on your compass until you reach the Bridge's checkpoint, there will be another Merchant Caravan near the bridge's checkpoint. Upon approaching the guard, you'll be stopped by him and will verify your destination and reason for visiting, you'll soon learn that they have been ordered to verify all comings and goings since they need to be cautious - the bridge's guard will eventually let you through and you'll be able to discover the bridge's outpost.

Now, continue down the path and follow your quest marker until you reach another checkpoint before entering the City of Hikmet. You'll be stopped again by the bridge's guards and will request for your name, title, and business. De Sardet introduces himself and states his purpose and the guard will let you through.

The City of Hikmet

Upon entering the city, you'll find the Merchant of the Alliance to your right, speak to her to check her inventory and to learn more about her wares. After speaking to her, proceed to the governor's palace to meet with the Bridge's governor. The palace is located at Al Saad City Square.

Before you enter the palace, if you have Síora in your party, she will mention that it is better if you don't bring her along since her clan is at war with the Bridge Alliance. To avoid any conflicts, open your map and look for De Sardet's house, it's relatively near the palace. Head over to your house and swap out Síora for Kurt - once that's done, you can proceed to the palace.

Before heading to the second floor, head inside the room next to the stairs to find a crate, you can find 4x Gold Coins, 1x Antidote, 1x Alchemical Mix of Magic Damage, and 1x Ammo. Once that's done, head back to the hallway and proceed to the second floor where the governor is.

Approach the governor and a cutscene will follow. Here, you'll meet the Bridge's governor, Governor Burhan. Before the conversation ends, the governor will request for your aid and the side quest Attacks on Caravans will be available for you to complete.

Meet the Governor Thélème

Once you're done speaking to Governor Burhan, you can fast travel back to New Sérène. This can be done by heading to your house in Hikmet and use the globe to fast travel.

Head to the north side of New Sérène and take the North Road. You'll find another Merchant Caravan by the north gate. Before heading west, head northeast towards the windmill to find a group of thieves, engage in battle and defeat the group to obtain XP and some Gold Coins - once you're done proceed to the west side of the area until you reach the travel point and make your way to Wenshaganaw, The Singing Waters.

Wenshaganaw, The Singing Waters

Upon arriving, you'll notice a huge group of Swindlers gathered on the west side of the area. Try to ignore the group first and continue following the quest marker since they are quite strong.

Along the way, you'll encounter 6x Brown Ulg, kill the beasts in order to obtain XP, Beast EssenceLeather, and Bile. From where the beasts were, head west until you reach the end, you'll find a chest containing 6x Gold Coins, 1x Health Potion, 1x Alchemical Stasis Mix, and 2x Ammo.

Proceed further down the path where you'll encounter more Brown Ulg, mutated bat-like creatures called Dosantats and Black Ulg, and an Alpha Ulg - once you've cleared the path, continue forward until you reach the next travel point to reach San Matheus.

San Matheus

You'll now discover San Matheus and the East Outpost, continue down the path and follow your quest marker until you reach a checkpoint before entering the City of San Matheus. You'll be stopped by Thélème's guards and will request for your name, title, and business. De Sardet introduces himself and states his purpose and the guard will let you through.

Now, follow your compass until you reach and discover the Place of Punishment. A cutscene will then follow as you approach the creature that is set on fire. During the cutscene, you'll find the Inquisitor Aloysius demanding a captured novice native warrior to renounce his faith and beliefs. He leaves the beast to burn and ends up chocking the native warrior to death.

If you have Síora in your party, an interesting exchange of dialogue will happen. Inquisitor Aloysius will notice De Sardet and Síora and will approach the party. Inquisitor Aloysius will then question you De Sardet if he believes that the God of Light is the one and only God and demands for an answer.

You will be given the choice to either "Confirm your Faith", to Renounce your faith in this God", or if you have at least unlocked a level 2 Charisma talent, you can choose to "Insist on his diplomatic function." Choosing the charisma option has a 75% success rate of persuading Inquisitor Aloysius, this will cause you to use your diplomacy to avoid answering the question, as well as +1 Reputation towards the faction of Thélème - once you're done, you can proceed further into the Governor's Palace.

Petrus

Upon entering the palace, you'll meet another companion named Petrus. He mentions that he met De Sardet when he was a child and asks if he can join your party since he is on his way to New Sérène to meet your cousin, Constantin, the governor. He then accompanies you first to meet the governor of Thélème. Before heading up to the second floor, head inside the room near the stairs where you can find a chest containing 1x Poisoned Alchemical Mix, 1x Major Magic Potion, 1x Ammo, and 6x Gold Coins - there isn't much to find, so head back to the hallway and proceed where the governor is.

Upon entering the room, a cutscene will follow. Here, you'll meet the governor of Thélème, Mother Cardinal Cornelia. After the conversation, Petrus will be temporarily locked in your party until you report back to Constantin. Head back outside the palace and make your way to De Sardet's house located near the main entrance of the city to fast travel back to New Sérène.

Once you arrive at your house, you'll find a letter left by your doorstep. The letter is from the Secretary of the Embassy and requests you to meet a group of natives, the side quest Inquisition will then be available for you to take - head inside your house and use the globe to fast travel to New Sérène.

Now, make your way back to the Governor's Palace and report to Constantin what you have learned from the two governors. This will complete the main quest and rewards the player with 1300 XP, 1x Resuscitation Powder, +1 Reputation towards the Congregation of Merchant, and unlocks 2 new main quests Scholars in the Expedition and Demoniacal Cult. Next is The Battle of the Red Spears.
