Skills in Greedfall refers to Character Progression by investing Skill Points into Skill Trees in order to unlock active and passive skills. Skills are categorized in the form of a skill tree and are divided into three disciplines/class: Magic, Warrior (Combat), and Technical. Skills Interface

How to get Skill Points

Players can gain skill points by leveling up the character level. By doing this, players will need to defeat enemies, bosses, and by completing various quests. Players can see the experienced they've gained and the remaining amount needed to reach a higher level by opening the character stats in the menu. You can also acquire points by discovering a Skill Altar, finding these will grant you with a Skill Point.

 

How to spend Skill Points

At the beginning of the game, after creating your character, you'll be given the chance to pick a starting class that has a preset of skills. However, as you begin your journey and progress throughout the game, players will need to find and activate a Skill Altar that is scattered all over the map and use it to spend the skill points. Players are not restricted to one skill tree but instead have the freedom to jump onto other trees and to unlock more skills.

Can Players respec their Points?

Players can reset their skills and gain back their points by using a Memory Crystal. You can do this by opening the Character Development menu and cycling through the Skills section, you'll find the option to Reset Skills at the bottom left corner as well as the number of Memory Crystals that you have. At the beginning of the game, you will be provided with (1) Memory Crystal. And beyond that, you'll have to earn it. In order to obtain a Memory Crystal, you'll have to kill some optional, mini, and some main story bosses. Just be careful and choose wisely on which aspect you'd like to respec since the number of Memory Crystals is limited.

 

Magic Skill Tree

 

The Magic Skill Tree consists of skills that focus on conjuring magical abilities that can be used offensively in battle or defensively to add buffs to yourself and your companions. The skills listed under the Magic Skill Tree requires the player to equip a Divine Magic Ring melee weapon type in order to conjure the spells.

Warrior Skill Tree

 

The Warrior Skill Tree consists of skills that focus on melee combat. Investing in unlocking the skills under this tree strengthens the physical stats of the character. Players will also be granted the ability to wield more types of Melee Weapons such as swords, hammers, axes, and more.

Technical Skill Tree

 

The Technical Skill Tree grants the character access in crafting alchemical preparations such as traps. Use Science to your advantage and take full control of the battlefield by setting traps and crafting both offensive and defensive mixtures.
